The Dragonfly Ladies work is a collaboration of two ladies, Laura and Judi, a daughter and mother combination, who live in two different states, but have one dream in mind, creating beautiful fused glass art that can be worn, displayed, utilized and admired by many. As you look at their work, some pieces have distinct differences and other pieces can be used together because they think alike and can embellish each others work.
Judi considers herself a self taught glass artist who has gained self confidence with her creativity. Yes, she has taken glass classes along the way, starting over 20 years ago with the idea of creating stepping stones. She started out with stained glass classes, then moved on to lamp-worked beads and glass fusing, and even experimenting with a bit of blown glass. The majority of her work is fused glass. She’s also looked at many books for inspiration and ideas, but her creativity comes from her heart and soul. She is not a cookie cutter artist, but one who starts a project with a goal in mind, yet at the end of a day or week a masterpiece may be completed.
The Dragonfly Ladies work with a lot of recycled glass from shower doors, house windows, bottles and other peoples scrap glass.
Colors on a computer screen can look different than they show up in real life, so they try to describe the color as best as possible, but in artwork, the vision is in the eye of the beholder.
The Dragonfly Ladies work is in many different shops and galleries, so please, if you are interested in a piece, contact them and they will let you know if the piece is available for sale or if it has already found its home. Since these are one of a kind pieces, they cannot not be duplicated, but similar pieces may sometimes be custom made in similar color combinations.
